Labouchere Betting System
The Labouchere betting system is another adaptation from the game of roulette. But both games have bets that pay out even money so it is completely transferable to the game of baccarat. In fact, it is better suited for baccarat with a lower house of 1.06% versus the 5.26% house edge in roulette.
There are two versions of the Labouchere system with the standard version being win based betting and the reverse system being loss based betting.
Labouchere Baccarat Betting System
In the standard version of the Labouchere betting system you
1. First decide how much money you want to win in your playing session.
2. Then you make up a list of numbers that add up to that amount. If you have a lot of time and low risk tolerance then make the list longer.
If for example you want to win $200 when you play, you could use any of the following numbers list.
$5 $6 $5 $10 $10 $10 $15 $15 $15 $20 $20 $20 $24 $25 or
$20 $20 $20 $25 $30 $40 $45 or
$50 $100 $50
3. Your first bet amount is the total of the first number and the last number. In the first example you would add together $5 and $25 to make a bet of $30.
4. If the bet wins, you cross off/take off both of those numbers from the list. Then your next bet is the total of the new first number and the new last number.
For the first series of numbers your new list would look like “$6 $5 $10 $10 $10 $15 $15 $15 $20 $20 $20 $24″. You would add $6 to $24 and make a new bet of $30
5. If the bet loses, you would put that number at the end of the number series.
Following the above series, you would place your $30 bet at the end of the line and have a new list that looked like “”$6 $5 $10 $10 $10 $15 $15 $15 $20 $20 $20 $24 $30″
To recap, you are removing two numbers when you win and adding one number when you lose. If you run out of numbers you have won the amount of money you wanted to win. You could either start over or just quit a winner.
The problem with this system is that during a losing streak you are constantly increasing your bet until you either run out of money or hit the maximum table bet limit. The reverse system is supposed to counter both of those problems.
Reverse Labouchere Baccarat Betting System
With the Reverse Labouchere betting system you
1. First decide the maximum amount of money you are willing to lose in your playing session.
2. Then you make up a list of numbers that add up to that amount. Once again, if you have a lot of time and low risk tolerance then make the list longer.
If for example you are willing to lose a maximum of $200 when you play, you could use the same lists of number or make up another one.
$5 $6 $5 $10 $10 $10 $15 $15 $15 $20 $20 $20 $24 $25 or
$20 $20 $20 $25 $30 $40 $45 or
$50 $100 $50
3. Once again, your first bet amount is the total of the first number and the last number. In the first example you would add together $5 and $25 to make a bet of $30.
4. If the bet wins, add that number to the end of the list. Then your next bet is the total of the new first number and the new last number.
For the first series of numbers your new list would look like “$5 $6 $5 $10 $10 $10 $15 $15 $15 $20 $20 $20 $24 $25 $30″. You would add $5 to $30 and make a new bet of $35
5. If the bet loses, you cross off/take off both of those numbers from the list.
Following the above series, you would remove the $5 and $25 numbers and have a new list that looked like “”$6 $5 $10 $10 $10 $15 $15 $15 $20 $20 $20 $24″
To recap, you add your winning bet to the end of the list and remove the two numbers when you lose . If you run out of numbers you have lost the maximum amount of money you were willing to lose. You could either start over with a fresh bankroll or just quit a loser.
However, you have limited the amount of money you are willing to lose in advance. Also, if you are on a winning streak, you will eventually hit the table maximum bet. But that also means you are way ahead. You can quit a winner or start a new series.
I much prefer the Reverse Labouchere betting system!
